Pregnancy Help
Headaches
Headaches are quite common during the first and third trimesters of pregnancy.
During the first trimester it is thought that headaches are caused by the surge of hormones and the increased blood volume. However they can also be caused from stress, bad posture, lack of sleep, low blood sugar, increased hunger, dehydration and caffeine withdrawal.
Most headaches will subside but if become worse or more persistent and or is accompanied by blurred vision, sudden weight gain, swelling in the hands and face or pain in the abdomen call your doctor immediately.
During the second or third trimester high blood pressure can cause a condition called preeclampsia.
