Stretchmark Prevention
Stretchmarks can be prevented by taking adequate amounts of zinc, vitamin C and bioflavanoids during pregnancy. These nutrients are all essential for the production of collagen, which is a component of all connective tissue, including skin, and allows skin its elasticity and integrity. Essential fatty acids are also important for skin health, such as those found in fish and flax oils. Topical treatments can also nourish the skin and improve circulation, but are not enough on their own if nutrients are deficient.
