Pregnancy Help

Shortness of Breath

As you uterus expands this places increasing pressure on your diaphragm causing you to feel short of breath.
This is often more of a problem when lying down, it may feel better to lye on your side.
If you feel breathless try to stay calm and breath as deeply and slowly as possible.
Breathing techniques taught in pregnancy yoga classes and anti-natal classes can be very useful.

If breathlessness is severe, and/or accompanied by a bluish tinge around the lips or fingertips, and/or chest pain or rapid pulse, call your midwife or doctor or hospital immediately.
